Government Documents Introduction

RSU Library's guide to resources and information published by the federal government and the government of the state of Oklahoma.

Federal Publications

Rogers State University Library has been a Congressionally-designated participant in the Federal Depository Library Program since 2006.  It is a selective depository which means we choose the series of documents we wish to receive.  Currently we select approximately 17% of the publications available from the Government Printing Office, which is in charge of the depository library program.  Selections are made based primarily on the curriculum of the University, then on areas of public interest.

U.S. and state government documents in our collection are searchable via the library's online catalog.

These publications provide information useful in many fields, including business, economics, education, history, law, and science.

Some federal documents are arranged by the Superintendent of Documents Classification System (SuDocs) which groups publications by authoring agency.  A detailed explanation of this system is available in this guide.

Oklahoma Publications

Rogers State University Library is one of more than 15 Oklahoma libraries participating in the Oklahoma Publications Clearinghouse (OPC) Depository program, the purpose of which is to ensure free and public access to state agency documents. Oklahoma Documents held by RSU are searchable in our online catalog .

State publications cover a wide range of topics from agriculture to vital statistics. Some of the library's Oklahoma documents are arranged by the Oklahoma Publications Clearinghouse Classification System. A detailed outline of this system is available in this guide.
