For Students

Welcome!

Welcome to the RSU Libraries!  We have so much for you to discover, but I want to introduce you to a few highlights.

First, however, let me back up and introduce myself.  My name is Kaitlin Crotty, and I have the honor of serving as Library Director here at Rogers State University.  My history with RSU dates back to the fall of 2006 when I first set foot on campus as a brand-new first-generation freshman.  I remember how monumental and overwhelming that moment was for me, but also how exciting and energizing it was.  My time here at RSU has brought me my closest friendships, consistently challenged me to do and be better, and facilitated some of the most rewarding moments of my life.  I hope the same for you.

I encourage you to take time to get to know the rest of the library staff as well.  Cecily Tubbs and Ash Horn are fantastic librarians who are here for your success throughout your academic career, and Kelly Ewing, Audrey Baker, and Lisa Rogers are absolutely phenomenal people who are ready and willing to assist you with all your library questions!

You might be asking yourself what could the library possibly have to offer you other than a pile of musty old books.  Well, we do have piles of books, a little over 77,500 actually, but I promise they aren’t musty.  Our book selection ranges from what you might consider your more traditional academic and research-based titles, to current popular fiction and nonfiction, graphic novels, and manga.

Your library is so much more than just books, though!  RSU Libraries provides you with access to a vast variety of books and eBooks, physical and digital audiobooks, board, card, and tabletop games, movies and other video on streaming, DVD, or BluRay, music, databases, journals, and more.  We’d love the opportunity to show you some tips and tricks for sifting through the plethora of information available.  As you reach those research papers and projects, please consider scheduling a research consultation with your liaison librarian!

Beyond these resources, however, the library also strives to meet the basic, educational, and entertainment needs of RSU’s students, faculty, and staff.  Our second-floor Library Lounge houses a Community Cupboard and Care Cabinet where the RSU community can make use of a variety of snacks, meal ingredients, and basic hygiene items in case you get hungry while studying, don’t want to stop at the store after work, or simply ran out of deodorant the morning of a big presentation.  Additionally, we offer a selection of events each semester, ranging from lunch & learns with faculty and panel discussions, to DIY workshops and bringing in everyone’s favorite therapy dogs during finals week!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly, or to contact the library’s main desk by calling (918)343-7716 or texting (918)771-4721!  Remember, each of us in the library exists here for your success, so please let us know how we can help!  We look forward to seeing you around and seeing what you achieve here at RSU!
