APA PsycArticles offers access to the complete electronic catalog of APA peer-reviewed journals, including over 200,000 full-text journal articles.

Enter your keywords in the search boxes. Try to include only one word or simple phrase in each box.

You can choose to narrow your search parameters using the options under "Limit your results" including:

a. Full-Text  is automatically checked 

b. Scholarly (Peer-Reviewed) Journals    Articles that have been reviewed by experts on the topic and revised based on feedback.

c. Age Groups   There are 12 options for searching by age group. You can select one or multiple age groups.

d. Methodology    Finds scholarly research that you used a specific methodology including empirical study, clinical study, field study, quantitative or qualitative study, and more with the methodology limiter.

e. Published Date    Limit results to articles published during a specific date range. This is helpful in cases when an assignment may require an article published within a certain date range, i.e. the last 5 years

f. Tests & Measures   Includes articles that mention the test instrument somewhere in the full-text, abstract, subject terms, or references. You will need to read the article's methods or instrumentation section to determine if the instrument was actually used

Results List

Once you have done a search, you will reach the results list.

Results appear in Date Newest order (most recent first) under the search term boxes. Click on the “Date Newest” drop-down menu to select other options for sorting.

To get more information about an article listed in your search results, click on the title.

The left-hand navigation also allows you to further limit your results such as selecting subject headings prevalent in the results. To access this feature, click “Subject: Major Heading” or "Subject" to list the subjects, and then select the subjects relevant to your search.

Article Record

Once you click on an article title, the following options and information appear. 

Keywords   Note any terms that look useful; you can scroll up and add them to your search or use them in future searching. 

Subjects   By clicking one of the linked words and phrases in this section, you the database will do a new search using the term selected.

PDF Full Text  If this option is available on the left side of the screen, it will provide a scanned copy of the original article, images included.

HTML Full Text  If this option is available on the left side of the screen, it will provide the complete text for the article, though images may not be included. 

Print or email the article to yourself by clicking "Print" or "E-mail" on the right side of the screen in the Tools section.

Clicking this link on the right-hand side of the screen (under Tools) will provide a formatted citation. Just select the desired style.
